The Last Baguette theatre company

We make entertaining, accessible and eccentric work for family audiences.

We are based in Wiltshire and make high quality small scale touring work for indoor & outdoor spaces. We tour to theatres, libraries, arts centres, community spaces & car parks throughout the UK, & have performed in France, Switzerland and Canada.

The company was formed from a shared love of theatre, bakery and humour in Paris by graduates of the Philippe Gaulier and Jacques Lecoq schools. We use live music, physical comedy, puppetry, visual storytelling & silliness to talk about important issues of our times.

**** "Funny, charming and thought-provoking" - CreativeReviewsUK on The Bird Show

We make fun & funny work for families that is challenging, innovative & experimental. We are passionate about & experienced in making work with children & young people & leading community projects.

Our work and working practice is based on the principles of community, courage, curiosity & kindness.

We are excited to be developing a new early years show:

Twinkle Twinkle
a nocturnal journey for early years by The Last Baguette

Inspired by The Star by Jane Taylor

It’s the longest night of the year. The woodland animals have gathered together to celebrate the solstice. As the sun sets and the stars come out to shine, it’s time for the animals to head home to their burrows and nests to sleep.

A Star guides the animals home through the forest and together they discover the light that shines in the darkness: travelling towards hope, home & renewal.

‘Tis your bright and tiny spark,
Lights the trav'ller in the dark :
Tho' I know not what you are,
Twinkle, twinkle, little star.

A playful, gentle journey based on the poem The Star by Jane Taylor (first published 1806) with original music, puppetry, joyful jokes, a host of woodland animals and lots of starlight.

As well as developing the new show, in summer 2026 we will tour:

BIN RAT!!! a fun, feral, family comedy

A rat-astic and realistic look into refuse and recycling. Rummage through the rubble with Bin Rat and her friends to discover where all the junk goes! Scrape scraps off the streets and find out what literally happens to litter in this fun, feral, family show.
Bin Rat is an outdoor interactive theatre & puppetry show that explores our relationship with our waste and where it goes, and asks the question: is tidiness really the answer?

“Bin Rat was superb! The show was fantastic – high energy, colourful and engaging, well received by our family audiences. Highly recommended!”

Playtime!
Play-along theatre adventures for 2-6 year olds and their grownups

Join Ratty and friends for a fun, relaxed participatory theatre session.
There’ll be silliness, play-acting, games and music in this play-along theatre adventure... Expect to play, move, watch and laugh. Ratty has a lot of ideas but sometimes things don’t go according to plan....can you help her by playing along and working together?

"Front Room has hosted regular Playtime performances since we opened over three years ago. Every show is full of joy and wonder and the interactive element of Playtime means that adults and children participate in the fun together. It is always a joy to be in the room at a Playtime session. Adults and children alike are dancing. playing instruments and moving around imaginary worlds on adventures with Ratty. We love Playtime and our audiences see Playtime as an integral part of our family offer"
Adam Fuller, Co-creative Director, Front Room Weston-super-Mare
"Playtime is an absolute joy to be a part of. The sessions are a lovely way for us to play together and explore our imaginations." The Greatest Showmum
A fun and gentle introduction to theatre with play-along storytelling, original music, puppetry, theatre games, movement, and lots of imaginative play. Sessions last 1 hour, and are created for ages 2-6 and their grown-ups. Younger and older siblings welcome.
"Playtime has proved to be a real success for us here at The Pound Arts Centre. The quality of performance is high and Sidney and Tristan are skilled at creating a warm, welcoming and playful atmosphere where everyone feels included. Shows sell out fast.. We love it!" Helen Dilley, Creative Learning Officer, Pound Arts
